  8. QuickLock v2.0 Ships - New Computer Security Concept

  10. Houston, TX--June 13, 1990--Kent◊Marsh Ltd. today announced a new concept in
  11. computer security with the release of QuickLock version 2.0.  This major
  12. upgrade to QuickLock makes it the only password-protected screen security
  13. device that “hands off” to a rigorous hard disk security product.  New features
  14. include enhanced time-setting options and eleven animated color screen-saving
  15. display modules and a message marquee.  Version 2.0 is being released with a
  16. reduced price and will also be available in 3- and 6-User Workgroup Packs.

  18. The QuickLock-NightWatch Connection enables users to shut down their Macintosh
  19. automatically at any time of day or after someone else attempts to access their
  20. data.  “The beauty of The Connection is that I can activate QuickLock as I
  21. leave the office, and if I don’t return, QuickLock will hand off to The
  22. NightWatch and secure my entire hard disk,” stated Andrew Utter, Chairman & CEO
  23. of Kent◊Marsh Ltd.  He also said that he was “proud to offer such a unique
  24. product which is so sophisticated, but yet so easy to use.”

  26. Users who own only The NightWatch or QuickLock will find that The Connection
  27. brings additional features to each product.  The NightWatch gains the ability
  28. to be automatically activated when the Finder’s Shut Down menu item is chosen,
  29. as well as allowing customization for different Macintosh models.  QuickLock
  30. owners gain the ease of using the Control Panel to change display modules,
  31. cursor hot spots, and time-settings.  New time-settings include automatic
  32. shutdown after invalid attempts and at a pre-specified time.  QuickLock version
  33. 2.0 also includes a variety of exciting color screen-saving displays ranging
  34. from the “Moon & Stars” to a “Las Vegas” can-can line.  It also prevents the
  35. insertion of a diskette while the computer is protected with QuickLock.
